Broad education, knowledge and awareness will measure success of the state in the modern world. V.Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made this statement, meeting the teaching board and the students of Ivano-Frankivsk Medical University during the working visit to Ivano-Frankivsk region on Friday.
In his speech, V.Lytvyn focused on the arrangement of work in a new format not only in the education establishments, but also in other spheres of social life.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stressed that education and public health are key spheres for any country. V.Lytvyn supposes that it is knowledge and awareness that will measure the state success in the future. He regretted that Ukrainian universities are not included even in the top thousand universities in the world.
Speaking with the lecturers and the students, the Head of the Parliament expressed his opinion concerning development of the society, "advance of education in the age of information and the Internet." He dwelled upon the ‘knowledge-based economy´, its economic, social and humanitarian aspects. V.Lytvyn mentioned numerous issues impeding the long-expected positive processes, and drew attention to the degradation of education, when acquisition of higher education means acquisition of an academic credential which does not guarantee a particular social status.
The participants of the meeting discussed the question how Ukraine can face up to the modern processes and challenges.
The Head of the Parliament answered the questions of the students and lecturers.
